2020 Prom Dress Trends
One of the best parts of High School is prepping for Prom! Really, you can start prepping months in advance for this all-important event because there is SO much to figure out. What friends will you go with? Will your crush ask you with an elaborate “promposal”? What should you do with your hair? ….and of course the MOST important question, what are you going to wear?
What you choose to wear for Prom speaks about your personality and sense of style for years to come! Here at Mac Duggal, we have you covered. We rounded up the hottest trends for Prom 2020 straight from our design team!
Unlike other color families, pastels look great on a wide variety of skin and hair tones. Icy pastels glow against darker skin, bringing out your best features! For those with fair skin, pastels provide a less dramatic contrast than deeper tones because they blend with the hues of your skin, blondes look wonderful in pastels for the same reason!
A few of our favorites this season are:
Who doesn’t want to be a little bit “extra” at Prom? Ruffles are the perfect way to show off your flair for fashion without going overboard! They offer flattering figure shapes, as well as more of high fashion feel to help you stand out in the crowd with their uniqueness.
Show a little skin without being too flashy in a dress with dramatic back details! This is a perfect way to spice up a simple silhouette. Right now, lace ups and cut-out backs are all the rage. Bring this trend to prom, and don’t forget to choose a suitable hairstyle that highlights the back of your dress and doesn’t distract from its statement features!
Bring on the bling with a gown that will make you shine at Prom! Metallic hues are universally flattering and work on all complexions. This season we offered this hot trend though unique fabrics and beading, sure to have you steal the spotlight (and can you say perfect for the gram pics?!)
